     Thanks, Rescue Me! I brought Opie and Joannie home and we have been learning one another's personality during the past couple of weeks. We built a new shelter and are in the process of building them a new paddock. In the meant time they have enjoyed the freedom of grazing and frolicking the five acres we have. They are very good in nature, but are in need of some long overdue attention from the farrier. I am looking forward to enjoying them for quite sometime.

     I took Bear out of miserable conditions; he had pneumonia, was underweight, and had been abused. I got him healthy, but found he couldn't take any pressure or stress and was not safe to ride. He is a handsome horse, friendly, curious, and was cooperative with humans, just fearful. He loved being brushed and given treats and was very social with other horses. He liked standing outside with a bird or two sitting on his back, and was bored in a stall. It seemed that being a companion horse would be perfect for him. After I posted him with Rescue Me! I got several calls over a period of weeks. All said they were horse owners and wanted a 'companion' horse. All asked for me to deliver him, to them, but some lived as much as 400 miles away. All of the offers sounded good and I tried to pick the best one. Bear is now in a seven acre pasture with another older horse. The owner has had her horse 'Bob' retired for 15 years, but he needed a companion. She is delighted to have Bear and from the minute he exited the trailer he went right up to Bob, ate a snack with him, and the boys had a walk around the pasture. Reports are he is doing well in his new home. Even after adopting him, before I took the posting down, I got a few more calls. I am so grateful for this resource. Bear deserved to live out his life without fear or abuse. I think he is a pretty happy boy now, and Rescue Me made this possible.

It turns out this lady's husband happened to stumble across the site on the day of his daughters birthday. She came out and looked at the horses and fell in love with them. I could tell by the way she interacted with the horses that they were going to a nice home and were going to be well cared for, which was very important to me. I am grateful for people like Jeff Gold who founded 'Rescue Me' to help animals find the homes they need. Thank you!

     This Palomino stud was found running along a highway. After, being caught, he was kept and cared for 30 days, then he along with three others were put up for sale. Two were sold, and this horse along with a Bay stud were facing being sold to be sent for slaughter. I posted him on Rescue Me, and a wonderful rescue adopted both horses. We were able to raise the funds to get them placed there. They, along with 22 others are up for adoption at the Sonshine Rescue Ranch. Their web address, if anyone would like to donate or adopt this horse or another, is [email protected]. This palomino is able to be ridden and is now a gelding. The Rescue Me website has given these horses, along with countless unwanted animals, an opportunity to find a good home. I am very thankful for their mission and ministry to save these beautiful and deserving animals.

     I was really leery of posting my daughter's horse since she went to college, but went ahead anyway. I received an e-mail within one day of the posting. My goodness! After getting in contact with the person and asking several questions, they traveled over four hours to meet Precita and then spent another three hours here at our place. My husband and I were absolutely impressed with her. She took the time to get know Precita and treated her with respect. This is one awesome person. I know she is going to go to a great loving home. Words of advice: Please watch how the horse and the person connect. Don't be afraid to say no if you have a bad feeling about the individual. You will smile when you know they are right for each other and they will get a great home. Don't forget to donate to Rescue Me! I did.

     I posted my four horses on Rescue Me. My husband and I weren't riding or working with the horses anymore and we felt they needed a home where they would have a job and a purpose. Nakita and Little Bit went to a very nice lady looking for horses to work with. Her friend adopted Shiloh and Rahab. I know they went to good homes when I watched Rahab's adopter work with her. He was very patient and used natural horsemanship to get her haltered. I am so happy that Rescue Me was available to help me find new homes for my horses. I was hesitant about auctions due to the horse slaughter buyers. Thank you Rescue Me and Jeff. We have also adopted a Pyreneese/St Bernard mix through Rescue Me. He is a great addition to our family and to the security of the farm. He is such a sweetheart!!

     We had a fantastic response to our posting on Rescue Me to re-home Beauty. The responses ranged from people wanting to adopt to people just offering pasture space for free if needed. Thank you to all of you who care! After careful consideration, we found a family that was a great match for Beauty. When they came to pick her up this morning, this amazing horse who had never been on a trailer, trusted (and she has a great temperament!) these people she had come to know and just walked right into the trailer.

     This was our second successful rescue through Rescue Me. The family we got him from were doing a wonderful job pampering him. He needed a home for someone to just love him and gently ride him for life. My daughter is just losing her horse. They already have that same connection with her previous horse and she had once they meet. He will come to her whether she calls or not. And waits for her unconditional love. We even bought her everything she needed to switch from Western to English as this is what Roy was used to. This site is awesome for getting horses to people who want and are willing to rescue or simply adopt for the horses best new or forever home. The horse, Lucky, is happy to know he will have food every morning and evening. His wounds are almost completely healed and the long task of putting the weight back onto his bones is progressing greatly. He has filled in. Starting to see the chest filling, hope to see neck and back soon to show filling. His coat is shiny and his teeth are white again. He's now the adult in the pasture after rescuing Roy (age eight) and our son's Beau whom we rescued at four months who's now seven years old. They are all trotting around without a care. Just enjoying being a horse.

     I want to say thank you so very much for helping me find a great home for my mother's horses! My mother passed away from cancer two weeks ago and I ended up needing to place three horses and six dogs. It is so sad what people do to the horses nowadays because of the price of hay. Rescues are over run and barely getting by. Some I contacted were even closing this summer due to financial hardship. Thank you so very much for establishing Rescue Me and maintaining it. Without you, many of these animals would be destined for horrific fates, but thanks to you, many will instead find their rightful place in this world. I also want to thank the wonderful people who turn to sites like this or rescues to save an animal rather than just buying one from a breeder or something. They are truly doing God's work! It is wonderful to know that my mother can rest in peace knowing her animals have found loving homes. I love you mom and am so grateful you raised me to see the beauty in things most people would cast off or take for granted.

     Sage is sweet and kind and is getting used to his new surroundings. His owner and a friend delivered him to me (a 500 mile round trip), and I'm very grateful that she allowed me to adopt him. He is assured a forever home and is getting to know his new buddy. I recently had a previously rescued horse pass away, and my other horse was lonely. I happened upon the Rescue Me site and found the post for Sage. I emailed Sue, talked with her at length, and drove up on a very rainy weekend to meet him. It was love at first sight. Your site made it easy, and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to rescue a horse for a lifetime companion.

     After calling and emailing about 25 charities and getting little response or only notification that they were full, Rescue Me saved me from having to make a tough decision and gave Catfish a second chance! I am ever so grateful. This website is organized, efficient, and very professional. What a wonderful way to help animals and their owners. I received about 15 responses and had Catfish in a wonderful new home three days after posting. I must mention that many of the people who responded to the post were knowledgeable horse people, which eased my mind and helped me feel comfortable with finding a new home. Good job, Jeff Gold!      I posted on Rescue Me! to find help for a young Welsh size horse that had been terribly abused. He had a halter that was so small when I got him, he had a hole in each side of his face from the metal in the halter. So sad! Anyway, through Rescue Me! he now has a wonderful home with folks that can take care of him. He was so weak when I got him that my grandson could pick him up, literally! Thank you! Bless you.

     I am a long time rescuer and animal advocate, and really appreciate the help Rescue Me! has provided. This mare 'Whisper' came to me as a weanling, sick, under fed and scared. I doctored and babied her, and tried working with her, however time, money, my age and circumstances kept me from working with her as she needed. I am so thankful a mother and her daughter who have horse experience visited her and fell in love with her. She will be going to a new home soon, and hopefully will end up being a wonderful loving riding horse with the chance to be all she can be and more. Thank you, Rescue Me!

     I found my new horse Pend Oreille through Rescue Me! I had lost a mare to colic on September 6th, and because I was so impressed with a friend's OTTB horse, I searched for a thoroughbred and to my surprise found Pend was a half brother to my friend's mare. I had no intention of getting another horse so soon after losing my mare but sometimes it just works out. I met Pend at Fallen Horses Rescue and adopted him on October 12. I love my new horse and hope for many healthy, happy years with him!

     Wow!! I cannot begin to explain how great Rescue Me is!!! My Mom passed away last year and her mare, that she had had for fourteen years, Shena, is 26 years old. Dad also had a horse that he could no longer ride due to health issues, and also he was not really wanting to ride alone. These two horses were such a part of our family that we really did not want to give them up, unless the absolute perfect home came along. Well, within eight hours of putting Shena on the Rescue Me! site, I had several responses, all of whom seemed good. But we found the perfect home for our old girl, as well as my Dad's girl Sierra! They are together, and sooooooo happy!! Thank You to Jeff Gold for his website, it was truly a Godsend for us!! I will tell everyone about this website, it works, and fast! Thanks again.

     Tucker had a tough life from the get-go. When I first saw him he was skinny, scared and dull eyed. After many conversations of faith and compassion his owner finally allowed nine of her eleven horse to be brought to my farm to be adopted out. Thank you, Jeff Gold and Rescue Me!, for giving this gentle gelding the loving appropriate home every horse deserves. On his first day out they asked him to jump a two foot rail on a whim. He had never jumped. He soared over it with perfect form. Who knew? So touching that a scared little red horse would put aside his neglected beginnings and trust so completely.

     I posted fifteen horses for adoption about three weeks ago. The response to the Rescue Me! website was overwhelming. All of the horses were adopted, about half to people who read Rescue Me! I still have three here, but they are spoken for. The one blind colt I mentioned in my posting has a nice forever home at Happy Haven Farm & Sanctuary in Byers, Colorado. He will spend his life helping traumatized children regain themselves through therapeutic riding. Thanks for being there for me and for the horses!

     Thank you, Jeff, for this website. I posted my two horses Jett and Apache Storm and within a week I got three responses. I am happy to say they both found a new home together, which is more than I had hoped for. Ashley came out, road Jett, and loved her. Her brother saw Apache and fell in love, too. Both horses will be leaving in a week or two, and as sad as I am of seeing them go, at least someone will ride and appreciate them more than I am physically able to.

     After many inquires... I finally found the perfect family for Rusty, and his new home is only 30 minutes from my house. I was really picky about who I would let Rusty go to as I knew what an exceptional boy he was, and letting him go was only out of financial necessity, not personal desire. This family has lots of acreage, nice barn and have already begun training Rusty. They were thoughtful and kind enough to call me and let me know how and what was happening with Rusty, his quick adjustment and to invite me to visit anytime. A huge Blessing for both Rusty and me.
