Horse

Compatibility: Good with Most Horses
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Needs Vaccinations

This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only.  Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. She's located in Huntsville Texas. Searching for a 'for-ever home' for an old horse likely in her last days. Searching for someone whom has the financial means to care for her, and whom has a genuine interest in nursing animal back to good health. She is with someone whom rescued her from near death in an even worse condition, but he doesn't have the financial means to provide for all her medical and good health needs. At this time she needs shelter & dental care. She's not eating well because her teeth need grinding. If I had the financial means, I'd take her in, but I don't and that's why I'm trying my best to find her a for-ever home ... (Read More)has the heart and the money to provide for her in her last days on earth. I'd prefer that the location be near Walker County Texas, but I can't be picky for myself, she's the one in need for a good home. She is very near my home and I'm the contact person whom arranges visits. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Horse in Texas
Horses can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. Horses are beautiful, romantic animals that many people love. Sadly, however, horses are being neglected, abused, and abandoned at an alarming rate. The reasons a horse would need to be rescued are quite varied. Some horse owners in the Western U.S. have lost their homes and land to foreclosure, leaving nowhere for their horses to go. These horses are sometimes abandoned in the plains and deserts, where they often die of slow exposure. Droughts, rising food and fuel prices, and other economic pressures mean that some owners can no longer afford to feed and care for their horses. Other horses are purchased by inexperienced people for sentimental reasons or as gifts for children, but their owners are unprepared for the ongoing expense and involvement of caring for the horses.

Like horses, donkeys and mules (sterile hybrids of a horse and a donkey) have their own charm and usefulness. However, these animals have also been affected by hay shortages and some have sadly become victims of abuse or neglect.
