Rescue Me ID: 17-08-21-00118Needing pasture pal (female)

Horse    Age: Adult

Looking to take on another pasture horse, I recently got this mare she came from a feedlot and is just hanging out in our big pasture, there is more grass than she can eat and I'm having to bushhog often, we own other horses but we keep them at our pastures bordering our house and barn, all our horses are fat as mud and well taken care of, this pasture is near our house but it is not convenient to keep a riding horse,I am willing to buy a horse but not looking to spend a fortune,or I would possibly take a free one,it can be a project or retired, references upon request, your welcome to come see the pasture! email or text is best 8287820098

Rescue Me ID: 17-08-17-00074Bunny (female)

Horse    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Horses
Personality: Very High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Intact (Needs to be Fixed), Vaccinations Current

Bunny has not been abused, but she has not been ridden or worked with like she used to. She has won many barrel racing competitions at our local show. But we cannot take care of her like she needs and deserves because of a severe allergy. It is most likely due to the flies around our farm and needs medication and consistent care. We just want her to have a good home and the attention she deserves, and do not wish to sell her and put her in danger of being abused or bought for a kill pen.

Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Intact (Needs to be Fixed), Needs Vaccinations

13 y/o grade QH mare. She is 14hh. She was bought for my mom but she won't ride her and she is just too small for me. She needs a light/ small rider. In effect she has not been ridden much lately. With regular handling she is super laid back and has more whoa than go. She was a childs horse at one time and could possibly be again. She has a lovely jog. Rocking chair lope but needs more work on going when asked. Very willing to try for her rider. She is a super sensitive girl and needs an experienced rider/ handler with a soft approach. She is super smart but doesn't react well to harsh handling. Love this girl, but i can't stand seeing her ... (Read More)sit. She will make someone a great trail partner. Feel free to ask any questions and i will answer the best I can. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-07-17-00669'Iceman' (male)

Horse    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Horses
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Intact (Needs to be Fixed)

I have a beautiful 13 YO Cremello, gaited, registered Tennesse Walker stallion. His registered name is, PRM Sequoia Traveler, aka, 'Iceman'. He's such a special boy and has a great temperament!! He's fully broke to ride, no kick, no buck, no bite. He stands for the farrier and for baths, he's so affectionate and loves attention. A sweet horse and no vices at all although he does get along with ponies better than geldings! He'd be a wonderful trail/arena horse. He's a great stud but I would not want someone to buy him solely for stud services, he deserves a better life than that one. He's very loving with me because I've taken time with ... (Read More)him, and he'd be the same with a loving owner. I wish I could keep him but due to certain circumstances in my life, I have to sell him. He's a steal at $1,000 for the right home, it's definitely my loss and your gain! Price is firm. If your feel you may be able to offer Iceman a forever home, with lots of love and hands on attention, then call or txt Ashley @(919)801-3127. (Less) (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Horse in North Carolina
Horses can make good pets in North Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. Horses are beautiful, romantic animals that many people love. Sadly, however, horses are being neglected, abused, and abandoned at an alarming rate. The reasons a horse would need to be rescued are quite varied. Some horse owners in the Western U.S. have lost their homes and land to foreclosure, leaving nowhere for their horses to go. These horses are sometimes abandoned in the plains and deserts, where they often die of slow exposure. Droughts, rising food and fuel prices, and other economic pressures mean that some owners can no longer afford to feed and care for their horses. Other horses are purchased by inexperienced people for sentimental reasons or as gifts for children, but their owners are unprepared for the ongoing expense and involvement of caring for the horses.

Like horses, donkeys and mules (sterile hybrids of a horse and a donkey) have their own charm and usefulness. However, these animals have also been affected by hay shortages and some have sadly become victims of abuse or neglect.
