Speedy is a little shy soon to be 3 year old dapple grey mare. She still suffers from being malnourished, but is getting better each day. We also are working on her behavior, until a couple of weeks ago she had never been touched. She is coming around nicely and now leads quite well. Sassy is still a little hard to catch, I have to go into the pasture with feed and she will now walk up to me. She seems to be a QH, but small built, under 14 hands. Red is a super cute QH type pony. She is strong enough build that a grown person can ride her , yet small enough for a child. She is suppose to be broke to ride, but we have been working with her on her fear issues. She is very shy and a bit hard to catch. She needs a loving home fast. For many year's she was tied up in a trailer park and the children there must have abused her. I don't think her previous owner knew about that, he loved her and he was elderly. She leads, loads and ties. Ones you catch her she is the sweetest Pony you can ask for. Red is 13.1 hands tall and 7 year's old.She is right now in training and should be ready about ... (Read More)end of March. Red will need an experienced rider. (Less) Golden Triangle Horse Rescue P.O.Box 1685 Clay County West Point, MS 39773 MAP IT!

Horses can make good pets in Mississippi if they match your IifestyIe. Horses are beautiful, romantic animals that many people love. Sadly, however, horses are being neglected, abused, and abandoned at an alarming rate. The reasons a horse would need to be rescued are quite varied. Some horse owners in the Western U.S. have lost their homes and land to foreclosure, leaving nowhere for their horses to go. These horses are sometimes abandoned in the plains and deserts, where they often die of slow exposure. Droughts, rising food and fuel prices, and other economic pressures mean that some owners can no longer afford to feed and care for their horses. Other horses are purchased by inexperienced people for sentimental reasons or as gifts for children, but their owners are unprepared for the ongoing expense and involvement of caring for the horses. Like horses, donkeys and mules (sterile hybrids of a horse and a donkey) have their own charm and usefulness. However, these animals have also been affected by hay shortages and some have sadly become victims of abuse or neglect. Rescue Me! - HeIpingAnimaIs in Need. | ![]() | ||||||||
