     Blue is a Registered 11 yr old APHA mare with Awesome Bloodlines. She was trained by Jim Dunagin for Halter and never finished under saddle She has a club foot that was taken care of as a baby and then let go after age 5/6 owner purchased other horse for showing and Blue was put out to pasture. Has never been bred. Club foot has been regularly trimmed and she is sound when trimmed properly. I got Blue when her owner fell on hard times and she was to be euthanized.     I have a 2 y/o old Thoroughbred Cross Filly with moon blindness. I am looking for a permanent sanctuary home or KNOWLEDGEABLE and CARING home for her due to her condition. Would make great companion or project horse. She is not completely blind at this point but her condition can lead to total blindness if not treated consistantly. She needs a facility with wooden fences and a safe barn or lean to for her to stay in because she can not see hot wire or regular field fence. PIease Read Before Adopting a Horse in Florida
    Horses can make good pets in Florida if they match your IifestyIe. Horses are beautiful, romantic animals that many people love. Sadly, however, horses are being neglected, abused, and abandoned at an alarming rate. The reasons a horse would need to be rescued are quite varied. Some horse owners in the Western U.S. have lost their homes and land to foreclosure, leaving nowhere for their horses to go. These horses are sometimes abandoned in the plains and deserts, where they often die of slow exposure. Droughts, rising food and fuel prices, and other economic pressures mean that some owners can no longer afford to feed and care for their horses. Other horses are purchased by inexperienced people for sentimental reasons or as gifts for children, but their owners are unprepared for the ongoing expense and involvement of caring for the horses.

    Like horses, donkeys and mules (sterile hybrids of a horse and a donkey) have their own charm and usefulness. However, these animals have also been affected by hay shortages and some have sadly become victims of abuse or neglect.
