    Honor is a 16.3h Dark Bay Thoroughbred Gelding who is very sweet and loving. He came off the track and has been with me for the past 6 years. I retrained him myself, he does walk/trot/canter and has a good headset when asked, he also has some training over fences (up to 3 ft). He clips loads crossties ground ties and will stand great for the vet and farrier. Back in November of last year he was sold to a girl who wanted to further his training in jumping but after having him for 6 weeks she discovered he was having a massive amount of drainage from his nose which through xrays discovered he had a mass in his sinus. He had never shown any ... (Read More)signs before that point so I was unaware that he had it and we still do not know how long he had it or what caused it. I bought him back from her because she was talking about euthanizing him since she couldnt afford the surgery to remove it. I have talked to several vets that have assured me that the surgery is routine and once the mass is removed he should go on to live a normal life and still be able to do any discipline that he did before. Since he has a chance to live a normal life I dont want to see him be put down only because his new owner couldnt afford it. I dont really have it either but I am trying to raise the money for the surgery to save him and find him a new home. Hopefully he will have the surgery within the next month but as soon as he recovers he will need a new home, someone to love and care for him the way I do. If I do not get the money in the next 30 days im afraid he might still have to be put down because Im not sure how much time before the mass grows or how much longer he can be on the antibiotics.     Cracker arrived on our farm June 2010 starved & neglected. She has fully recovered and is a sweet & beautiful grade horse. Cracker is 11 years old. She's a real pretty girl and her coat blushes with health. Cracker sustained injury to her right front hoof cracked into band & right rear heal when she was a yearling. She completely recovered & is sound. She can't be ridden for sport, jumping, concussion sport, etc., but would make a fine pleasure or trail horse. Cracker deserves a loving, permanent home!

    Horses can make good pets in Florida if they match your IifestyIe. Horses are beautiful, romantic animals that many people love. Sadly, however, horses are being neglected, abused, and abandoned at an alarming rate. The reasons a horse would need to be rescued are quite varied. Some horse owners in the Western U.S. have lost their homes and land to foreclosure, leaving nowhere for their horses to go. These horses are sometimes abandoned in the plains and deserts, where they often die of slow exposure. Droughts, rising food and fuel prices, and other economic pressures mean that some owners can no longer afford to feed and care for their horses. Other horses are purchased by inexperienced people for sentimental reasons or as gifts for children, but their owners are unprepared for the ongoing expense and involvement of caring for the horses.

    Like horses, donkeys and mules (sterile hybrids of a horse and a donkey) have their own charm and usefulness. However, these animals have also been affected by hay shortages and some have sadly become victims of abuse or neglect.
